Finished Projects

Ace Bolt

A first attempt at sculpting a 35mm sci-fi character. Done with sculpey+fimo and greenstuff+aves. I originally sketched the character out for a small shoot-'em-up video game, but recently discovered the drawing again and gave it a crack with the putty.

The good: The pose was captured accurately, and I got the putty on the armature thin enough.
The bad: Smoothing. I need to smooth the putty better, and keep my lines clean. And the face can do with some work.
The ugly: The hands are ugly. Need to figure out how to do those better.

He lives on puttyandpaint, as well as ArtStation, and you can vote for him on coolminiornot.
There is a WIP log on here.

Land Raider

Built using a template from Eli Patoroch, I modified this with custom multi-meltas and a main Thunderfire cannon. The body was modified a bit to have space for thicker tank treads, which I molded using card and plastic, and then cast using a plaster medium.

The original build log is at papermodelers.com.
There is a summarised build log at CMON, and you can also vote for the final vehicle.

Scream

This is an old piece of work, made while I lived in Germany. A friend of mine (hi Stig!) said we should go to a pottery studio and go and make something. This is the result. About 20cm tall, from terracotta.
